If you'd like to pick up Homework 6 & 7, I will hold an office hour on Monday from 1-2. If you can't make that, just send me (Casey) an e-mail and we can work out another time to meet. |

1. The Final exam in this course will be held on Thursday, March 18, during the period 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, in YORK 4050A. |

2. The coverage for this exam will be ----- all the material taught in the class or given on the HW-assignments 1-7 or in the Mid-term exam. |

3. The exam will consist of 6-8 questions, of which you may attempt AS MANY AS you wish. Note that all questions may not be of equal value. |

4. You are supposed to bring with you a Blue Exam Booklet and a calculator. If you wish, you may as well bring a "cheat-sheet"--- a standard 8.5" x 11" paper --- with formulae written on both sides. Please note that this sheet should contain ONLY formulae, NO derivations; you are supposed to submit this sheet alongwith your exam! |

5. You will be provided with a list of Conversion Factor and Physical Constants, as given at the end of the text. |

1. The midterm exam in this course will be held on Tuesday, February 16, during the class. |

2. The coverage for this exam will be the material taught in the first eleven lectures, i.e. up to and including the "thermal properties of magnetic systems." |

3. The exam will consist of 4-5 questions, of which you may attempt as many as you wish. Note that all questions may not be of equal value. |

1. There will be a homework assignment, given every Thursday, beginning January 14. These assignments, totalling 6 or 7, will count as 25% of your overall grade. |

2. There will be a Mid-term
test on Tuesday, February 16, during the lecture hour; it will count as 25%
of your overall grade. |

3. The Final exam in this
course will be held on Thursday, March 18, during the period 11:30 am – 2:30 pm --- the
venue yet TBA. This will count as 50% of your overall grade. |

4. The first discussion
session will be held on Wednesday, January 13. |
